Examples of lifestyle factors which interact with our genetics include: exercise/athletics, smoking, alcohol consumption, and even substance abuse. Other lifestyle choices involving nutrition can also be important, such as habitual diets high in red meats, or overcooked meats, or diets high in dietary fats or saturated fats, or habitual super-sizing of food portions, among others.
